Cyber Chip Training to be Held November 6

posted Oct 25, 2017, 8:19 PM by Webmaster Troop253

Troop 253 will hold Cyber Chip training for the entire Troop on Monday November 6 during our regular Monday meeting.

The National BSA requires all Scouts to renew their Cyber Chip every year.

Today's youth are spending more time than ever using digital media for education, research, socializing, and fun. To help families and volunteers keep youth safe while online, the Boy Scouts of America introduces the Cyber Chip.

Topics include cyberbullying, cell phone use, texting, blogging, gaming, and identity theft.

Parents: Use the Cyber Chip as a tool to work with your youth to create additional open communications.

NOTE: Cyber Chip training is a MANDATORY prerequisite for several Merit Badges like Computer Programming, which must be completed BEFORE the upcoming Merit Badge Challenge on December 2nd.
