Summer Camp Orientation Meeting

posted Jun 14, 2019, 10:41 AM by Webmaster Troop253   [ updated Jun 14, 2019, 10:43 AM ]

Parents - Monday, June 17, we will hold a Summer Camp Orientation Meeting - Its especially important for first year camper families to attend. We will also go over the Summer Fundraising events as well as the Sept/Oct Campouts.

After summer camp we do not meet on Mondays until school resumes in August, by which time the Sept campout will be right around the corner (And summer fundraisers will be over!), and there will be very little time to get organized, so now is the time!

Troop 253 awarded over $800 in camperships this year just for summer camp, our fundraisers are critically important in order to continue this economic support to families. Scout and Parent participation is needed for these efforts to be successful!!

Christmas party December 17

posted Dec 10, 2018, 5:25 PM by Webmaster Troop253

Troop 253 Christmas Party is coming up on Monday Dec 17. We will do our ever popular variation of “Yankee Swap” gift exchange game. if you want to play please bring a wrapped gift for the exchange game with a price of approximately $15.

The game goes as follows…

All the wrapped presents are placed in the middle of our circle. Each player picks a number from a hat to determine the order of selection. The person who picks the first gift selects whatever one they like from the pile, leaving it wrapped. Then the number two participant can either pick a gift from the pile OR can steal the gift from the first picker. This continues until the last person picks. Participants can re-steal their first choice back, and if a participant manages to re-steal their gift three times they are ’safe’ from having it stolen again. Lots of fun.

Please bring something snack related to share, Christmas Cookies are always good.

Meeting starts at our usual 7pm.
